[MLE] NCERT Seminar on School Curriculum, Policies and Practices

Dear MLE friends,
Curriculum and language are very much related. In the announcement of the below mentioned seminar “multilingualism” is specifically mentioned. It would be good if some of us can attend.

Seminar on, ‘School Curriculum, Policies and Practices in South Asian Countries’, August 10-12, 2009, NCERT, New Delhi
The Curriculum Group at National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) proposes to organize a three-day seminar on ‘Curriculum Policies and Practices in South Asian Countries’. The seminar will enable participating countries to understand how the issues of diversity, pluralism and multilingualism are addressed in curriculum of different countries. The exchange of curricular materials will also help participating countries to understand ‘what content is taught at which level of schooling’ and ‘how curriculum is transacted through textbooks in different countries’.
